Pride and Calvin

I am sure that at one point or another we have all allowed Pride to get the better of us, sometimes without even realizing it; President Ezra Taft Benson Taught that "Pride is the universal sin", and like an anchor stops our progression towards God. The opposite of Pride is Humility which is being meek and submissive to God's will. Let us all strive for Humility in our daily lives!

Entering the Temple

Tis a great blessing to see the light of Christ touch lives! Yesterday I was blessed to see a good friend enter the temple. Heavenly Father shows his love for us in so many ways! How has he blessed your life?

Of the Moth

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
There are so many things in this world that distract us from what matters most. Lets make the most of what the Savior has given us! Lets follow Him!

Father's Day

I owe a great deal to my Father. He has taught me some of the important lessons in my life, all by example. Most important he taught me the gospel of Christ from an early age. Thanks Dad!

The Final Transfer

I'm serving my final transfer with Elder Stancliffe in the Hunter west stake. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of success here. Doing all I can to serve The Lord. It is Jesus Christ that makes all things possible.

Changing Lives

The gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. It has been a great blessing to serve here in granger Stake. I have known and worked with many wonderful people here. Stay on the path back to Him! It is worth it.

A Joyful Burden

There are things all around us to avoid for the safety of our souls. What do you do to avoid temptations?

A wise phrase that came from another source, but i learned from my mother. Though I struggle to apply it, a constant effort is required. Forgiveness is worth it!

Mother's Day!

The Armor of God

Each day we need to choose to put on the armor of God, so we can have a defense against the fiery darts of the adversary.

General conference follow up!

General conference has been great thus far. We have heard some inspiring messages, and have felt the spirit testify of truth. May we continue to watch and listen with open hearts to the words of The Lord!

Trust to do Good

And now, verily, verily, I say unto thee, put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good—yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit. Verily, verily, I say unto you, I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy;

Of Faith and Fortune Cookies

Once more the wise words of the Fortune cookie apply to the Gospel of Christ. We each have a divine potential. To reach it, we need to be diligent in our efforts and have faith to act on what we believe. The Book of Mormon has been key in strengthening my faith in Christ. Take a look inside and find the light it gives. I promise you will be blessed.

The Light of Christ

The light of Christ is the desire in each of us to do good. As we do good this light grows. as the savior said: "Let your light so shine..." I testify that as we let our light shine we will bless the lives of those around us.

Faith = Hope not seen

We may not see everything our Heavenly Father has planned for us, but we can know it is better than what we can imagine. Let us have the faith to keep His commandments, so we can reach our divine potential.

If ye believe the words of Christ see that ye do them.

Desire

Every choice we make starts with a desire. Happiness comes from having our desires and actions in line with our Heavenly Father's Plan for us. Start now.

Of EXIT Signs

One of my favorite childhood films "The Pagemaster" followed a boy who was trying to get out of the many situations he found himself in. He knew the EXIT sign showed the way out, but it took a lot of help from his new-found friends, as well as acting in faith to get there. Many times we face situations we know we need to get out of, but need help to get out. Think of those you know that are struggling to be free, and help them get to the EXIT sign.

They that wait upon the Lord

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that theeverlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. -Isaiah 40: 28-31

X Marks the Spot

Our Heavenly Father provided us with a map and directions to get back to Him. The map is the Plan of Salvation, the directions is the gospel. The Holy Ghost is our compass. Lets get going on our journey.

Improve the Shining Moments

My mission has gone by so fast thus far. I feel that while I may not have "Improved the Shining Moments" as well as I could have, I have seen amazing blessings in my life and in other's lives. This life is short, in the eternal perspective, but it is a time in which we learn the most. Make the most of the life you have been given.

FAITH!

When we believe something and act on that belief, it's called Faith.

Let us have Charity

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." Matthew 5:44-45

Be not afraid

It is easy to let fear prevent us from believing, but life isn't meant to be easy. For the Saviors atonement to help us, we must sometimes take a leap of faith. Christ will always overcome fear, if we will but let his spirit into our hearts.

O man remember!

"But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not." -Mosiah 4:30

Believe In God

Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend. Mosiah 4:9

Valentine

My family sent me this valentine, that really helped me apply the gospel to even this unlikely holiday. Our Heavenly Father loves us very much, so much so that gave is His son a sacrifice, that through Him we can return in happiness to our Heavenly Father.

If we would but listen

The Gospel is always available to us, but before we can have the happiness that living it brings we must first be ready and willing to listen.   see Matthew 11:15

Every Good Gift

"And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. And whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is." -Moroni 10:5-6

An anchor to the souls of men

Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

Doctrine and Covenants 11:20

Our work in this life is to keep the commandments. Christ's work is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. That's why he gives us commandments. If following them brings eternal life...Why not follow them!

Proverbs 1:33

Through Christ's Atonement there is a peace and hope that drives out fear of evil. Let us live the Gospel of Christ and keep his commandments.

Walk in the Spirit

After baptism by one holding the priesthood authority of God, the gift of the Holy ghost is conferred. The gift of the Holy Ghost gives one the right to the constant companionship and guidance of the Spirit as long as one remains worthy. Let us live in the Spirit, and walk in the Spirit.

Listen for His voice

If you feel that you need a spiritual boost to help you make it through the week come to to the chapel this Sunday, partake of the sacrament and be edified by the things the spirit will teach you. If you need to know when your local ward meets shoot me a message and I'll help you find out.

Football and the Sabbath

The Super Bowl is coming up! The bad news is it's on Sunday. The Good news is: it's not an excuse to skip church, Since church ends by 4:00 at the latest, and the game doesn't start till 4:30. You can still come partake of the sacrament, renew your covenants, and receive the blessings of the atonement, without missing the game. I'll see you at the chapel.

Love is the way of the disciple

The savior said "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Let us show our love to Him.
